Cod sliders were simply perfect. 10 out of 10. Will come back over and over for them. Unfortunately not much else is good if anything. But all I ever need is 1 great item to go back again and these were them. The chicken and waffles were horrible. Extremely salty, waffles were out of a box and chicken was weird. I hope on the next visit the cod sliders are just as amazing as the first time.

I love the burgers from here. They are always cooked perfectly and very tasty.

I have eaten here now a couple of times and each time has been great. The burgers always come out juicy and fresh. I have tried the lamb burger and more recent the breakfast burger. The breakfast burger was so good I could not stop eating it. Perfect for those next day hangovers. I love the fact that you can order any burger on a regular roll or an English muffin. Just something a little different. This is a great stop if you are looking for a tasty burger.

Best to avoid this "burger" joint unless you're meeting with some friends for drinks and apps at the bar. I will point out that service was very friendly and helpful, I just wish the food wasn't so bad. The buffalo wings were pretty good. The burgers? Well, they serve them on an English muffin instead of a bun... yup. Kind of doesn't work. If that's not your thing, I was told they could give me an egg roll instead, even worse. Ordered the fried chicken and waffles which were just gross. Chicken was super salty and soggy and the chicken gravy they pour on it was a massive sodium bomb. As for the waffles, pretty hard to screw up Eggo. Thought I was going to drop dead of a stroke after dinner. Was quite annoyed when the bill came and it was over $50 for a meal both my fiancée and I didn't enjoy. I won't be coming back.

Nice place. Good server. For a burger place - the prices didn't match up with the quality. Didn't make me look forward to coming back, but didn't do anything really wrong.

The place is clean ,warm and inviting. The staff was very nice. The burgers were average . I have heard great things about the burgers but honestly they were nothing special. I've had better at Applebee's. Nice place but don't go out of your way if your looking for a great burger.

Best burger I ever had!!! Service was top notch!! Pig in the blanket for appetizer was a nice treat. Extensive menu from the quick bite to a nice home cook meal. I definitely will be back here!

Great burger! Having it on an English muffin was an interesting but yummy twist. The shakes were delicious! The staff was attentive, and the restaurant was charming. I will definitely be going back.

We have been here with my family and also with larger groups. I will rate this a 4 star for the following reason....whenever we go there everyone that is in my group enjoys their burgers and never has anything negative to say. I have to say that is a rarity when you go out with multiple families for a night out. I have tried a few of the different burgers they offer. I have had the lamb burger, the breakfast burger, the turkey burger....they are all pretty good. It is a nice treat as well that they serve fresh potato chips when you are deciding on the menu. For some reason everyone seems to rave about the English muffins that they serve the burgers on.

We tried this place because it looked cool from the outside. There were some people at the bar and a very light crowd at 5pm. No air conditioning in the main dining room and no music in that room either. Also, noise from upstairs; chairs and tables being moved; very bizarre for a restaurant. The staff was friendly, but some were dressed in plain clothes; kind of odd. We ordered the corn dog nuggets which had no flavor and I had the Philly Cheesesteak; it was just okay for a one-time dinner but no taste to remember. Most of the time, we had our eye on getting ice cream across the street after dinner.

I've had yelp for over a year now and have never felt the need to review a place until now. This was by far the WORST dining experience I've ever had. Took 45 minutes on a Monday night to be served 2 burgers at the burger shack! After about 20 minutes of waiting I asked the clearly frazzled waitress WTF is going on, so she finally checked and came back with the flat out LIE that a couple steaks were ahead of us so that's why it was taking so long.... After she gave us this excuse a table across from us who sat down after us received their 2 burgers. My guess is our waitress never put our food in until I finally asked what was going on, because 20 minutes later we finally got our food. Then comes the bill $74 for 2 burgers, wings and 3 beers. Nothing taken off the bill for our ridiculous wait time and their mistake, no visit from a manager despite our complaints, nothing. Avoid this place

Ehh. This place is called the Burger Shack! Which you would think that they would have the best burgers! But they do not. The burgers are very small, and they are served on an oversized bun that was not very tasty. My burger was dry, and I have some small pieces if crumbled up bacon on top. Had to hunt down our server for napkins, fresh bottle of ketchup, after asking twice!! Customer service isn't the best here. My fries were cold, and pretty hard. Have been their multiple times as its local to my friends home and yet to be impressed by the food or service.

Good food, nice selection of beer, never seems overly crowded so not much of a wait. I recommend the chicken parm bites, and the chips are awesome!

  • Barry M.

Chili burger and fries were very good. Burger was done just right and the chili was excellent. Advise to substitute a roll for the English muffin. UPDATE: Been back a couple of times already (June '15). Enjoyed the burger on an english muffin too!

  • Deb B.

Food was ok but very over priced I don't see how the prices compensate the food, it wasn't anything special. They even charge for honey mustard. I wouldnt go again its not worth the price. Service was OK.

  • Tom M.

The food is okay here that was not the issue. It was 8:45 on Saturday and the band that was 10 feet away singing songs that were beyond vulgar with many sexual words and acts. My jaw dropped the all 4 kids were asking what that stuff meant. I told the manager and he responded very rood and arrogant, he told me well you are at a bar at almost 9 on a Saturday. Basically this place was not for kids and he couldn't of made it any more clear. So if your with kids drive on.

Burgers! (And more) We were doing the domestic thing and needed refueling so me and the girlie popped into burger shack for some lunch and to take a break. Great place on Montauk Highway with a decent bar area to the right as you walk in and additional dining and dining room to the left. We settled in and scored some nachos and burgers and chowed down. Burger selection is outstanding and if that isn't your thing, there were plenty of other options to begin your feeding frenzy with. LArge selection of apps as well as salads and other stuff to keep you munching. Place is decorated in a beachie - summer-ie motif and totally fits the area it sits in, Very good prices for the large portions - we couldn't finish both of our meals - so we waddled back out to finish our day. Definitely a must try if you are in this area. Parking on the street and along the side (I think)

I've been here several times. The Burgers are very good but the wings are excellent and well worth a special trip.

My first review was several years ago. We were recently driving by and went in to satisfy a burger need. Disappointed. The chips were cold and looked and tasted that they were home made a long time ago. Kind of greasy and poor tasting. Breakfast burger was meh . The egg was way over done, a couple strips of bacon and a roll that had seen better days. Not a lot of beef taste. I ordered the Texas fries. Fries with cheese sauce and Jalapeño peppers. They cost 70 cents more than the regular cheese fries. That 70 cents bought you 4 pepper rings. My partner had a well done burger that was supposed to be medium. For the price we paid (2 burgers and 3 beers for $47) , any of the chain burgers would have been a better value. Don't think we will return.

  • Trevor W.

My new favorite burger! Perfectly medium (as ordered) and delicious on the English muffin! Deserts are delicious as well (if you can fit it after the huge burger).Service both times we've been there has been great - very attentive an friendly. Good selection of draft beers and a very nice beachy "shack" atmosphere - well decorated but casual. The parking is a little sparse right outside but it well worth the walk to park down the street!

Definitely one of mine and my boyfriends greatest finds! This place is absolutely a buried treasure of the area. The dining area is quite small as well as the bar area but it's a very nice quaint place. For those yearning for a good burger or a few laughs with friends burger shack is a must! The dining area only has a hand full of tables but in my opinion I think it's much nicer. It has a beach theme to it but not it a rustic way, they do a very good job making it look tasteful. For the wait staff; they're awesome! The younger bussers aren't that tentative but what can you expect from kids that young? The waitresses and waiters are all sweet as can be and strive to remember your order from previous outings. Everyone is extremely friendly and the food is great! Any group from a family outing to a quite date night will definitely love this place! GO GO GO!

A must try if you're in the area. Trust the suggestions from Steve at the bar. On his game without question, just ask him if he was on Duck Dynasty! You won't have a bad time here.

This burger joint is pretty good. Yes real chop meat. Burgers severed on a roster English muffin. You can get the supper market bun if you want. Good place to get a burger and a beer. I enjoy their fried green tomatoes. Nice app, not filling.

Good food a lil pricey 2 burgers 2 beers and a shake was 60 dollars. Cute local place

Loveeeeeeee this place! Burgers are delish.. Mac and cheese is divine.. Sweet iced tea is so refreshing! The burgers here beat any I have had elsewhere in town. You'd be silly to pass this one up! Guy Fieri needs to drop by this dive.. it's just perfect !

My husband and i have been here three times in the last three months and the food and service have been wonderful each time. The burgers are delicious, the homemade chips are addictive and salads super fresh. KB's Burger Shack is great place for a casual lunch or dinner and our new go-to place for burgers.

  • Pam M.

What a ripoff!! I was really disappointed in my experience at KB Burger Shack. Parking is a nightmare, the place looks like it's cranking, but it must be the vehicles of the staff. The service was exceedingly slow (10 minutes for a cocktail in a fairly empty bar). We ordered straight up med rare cheeseburgers nd it took 20 minutes to get to the table, the burgers came to my table very well done, but didn't give the burger back b/c i had an appoitment I would have been late for. Once we had the food,no one from the staff checked on our status. Not a big fan,so many better places to get a burger in town. (quicker and cheaper and cooked correctly.Good luck, you'll need it

Thank goodness for being the queen of parallel parking because it's mostly street parking and at the time I went, nothing was available within a reasonable walking distance. The place is cute. One section was a bar atmosphere and the inside was the dining room. Background music was Americana 70s 80s adult contemporary. The service was good. Checked on me a couple of times. Asked how everything was etc. Burger time. I ordered the Santa Fe Burger which comprised of a thick burger, topped with caramelized onions, half an avocado and a balsamic chipotle reduction. I asked to add on some jalapenos. I have to say, it was a towering burger. I had to think about how to go about eating it because if eaten in the traditional way, the avocados would shoot out to across the room. So I had to eat the burger open face style and mashing the avocados down to a mush. I was excited to eat the burger and then the first bite. Then the sub-sequential bites. It was BITTER. Every bite after swallowing was BITTER. It wasn't the toppings. They were fine. It wasn't the japalenos because they were spicy sour. It was the Charred meat. Now it wasn't dry or overcooked because the meat was still pink in the middle. So it leaves me to believe two things could have happened: 1) The meat was not brought to room temperature before it was cooked. Hence the VERY uneven cooking happening here. Yes I did ask for the meat to be cooked medium. BUT for it to taste charred bitter shouldn't be and was so off putting. 2) The meat was cooked at such high temperatures that gave it that over charred and bitterness and yet was able to keep the inside pink. Again, the bitterness was the only thing I can remember tasting. I did finish the burger hoping it would be better and not bitter with each bite but that didn't happened. Wasn't comforting. Damn shame. The sweet potato fries was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed eating them. Would I go back. Probably not. If the place touts burgers and if it can't be correctly cooked then I don't want to know what the other food would taste like. .

After passing Burger Shack several times while in Patchogue, I finally stopped in with a few friends to give it a shot. I am always a fan of a good burger but both of my friends enjoyed salads which they were beyond happy with!!! Who thought a salad could be so great!? Trying to stay away from my usual bacon cheeseburger, I tried the breakfast burger. AMAZING and so different. Great environment if you've trying to escape the day for a little while and go on an hour vacation. Though neither of my friends eat burgers, they were both overly sastisfied with their lunch as well. I couldn't stop picking at their shared order of mac and cheese when they weren't looking!! MUST try

Stopped here for lunch with my son. He ordered the vanilla shake and the shack burger. I ordered the Santa Fe burger. I asked for medium rare and it came out perfect. Very yummy. The vanilla shake was really good too. Beach like atmosphere. The waitress was very nice and stopped by frequently to check on us. We will absolutely come back.

Hmmmm a burger shack. Why the heck not? The place has a very different theme for a shack. A surfer picnic area if this make sense. Now for the food. I ordered a shack attack burger. It is two grilled cheese sandwiches with bacon, onions, mushrooms, and a fried egg. Ding, ding, ding. I love a fried egg on my burger. I was unfortunately not impressed with this burger. the grilled cheese was not cheesy enough for me. I think only one slice of cheese between 2 slices of bread is not a good grilled cheese. Please make sure you get the grilled cheese down better and put another slice. If not for the grilled cheese this could have been a great burger. The wife got the Sante Fe burger. Now this was done better. The fries I did enjoy. I will be back to try the other style burgers.

The Burger Shack is a great addition to the local restaurants between Sayville and Patchouge. We went on a Tuesday night, there were only a few tables and service therefor was pretty quick. So the goods and the bads...The burger itself was very good. I was surprised to see it on an english muffin. The owner told me he is going to provide a bin as an option soon. The chips they serve before dinner are home made and very addictive. The fries are just OK. The bads...I really did not see many. There was certainly not enough bads here to warrant the single star reviews that I have seen. I did agree with the one review regarding the decor. What is with patchouge and the 80's beach look? It reminds me of ft lauderdale. All in all, I think it's a great new option for an affordable evening. But, the English muffin bun has to go.

Well went for lunch with my wife and kids,,, burgers are expensive there . i ordered a burger medium and got it rare sent it back and ended up getting a burned well done burger you figure for a 13 dollars they would be a bit better. Waitress took off the burger and the drinks which was nice but the bill was for 2 burgers and a kids nuggets 36 dollars which seems really pricey.

  • Monika R.

Went there with my boyfriend for dinner. The atmosphere was fun lots of TVs and sports friendly. The wings were very good!! The burgers were decent but pretty pricey $14 and $15 dollars for a burger with a small side of fries. Will come back for a beer and wings but skipping the pricey burger.

Well, I tried this place last night and was NOT impressed. I had the chili burger and the chili was bland, the roll was so nasty I couldn't even cut it with a knife. Sorry, but I have definitely eaten better burgers in many other places. This place is on my one visit list.

I am very picky about my burgers, especially if that is all a resturant serves. The burgers here are nice and come exactly how you order them. I usually have the Mykonos burger made of ground lamb with yogurt cucumber sauce and it is delicious. The homemade potatoe chips and ketchup on every table are fun and light. Typical submarine salad and dressing, nothing special about the desserts. Despite other reviews I have never had to wait to be served and the staff is attentive and friendly. One of the better burger joints around.

Having passed by this place a few times, my wife and I wanted to try it out. First, the parking is a nightmare, it is kind of all over the place and competes with a local pub/deli across the street. When we walked in we were told there was a 15-20 minute wait. A little weird being that there were tables that were obviously open. I think this is their trick to get you to buy a drink at the bar. After almost a half an hour passed, I asked" how much longer?" Miraculously there was a table available. Onto the food: I ordered the bacon burger with cheddar medium rare, wifey got the bacon burger with american cheese cooked well. It came on an english muffin, which usually I like (you can also specify a bun). This one was not toasted enough and there was butter on the muffin, which made it a little awkward. My burger was cooked perfect, my wife's on the other hand was still pink in the middle. The burgers here are thick, which makes it hard to cook well. So just be careful when ordering well. They make a good burger here and the onion rings are better than the fries. my advice, get the fries Texas style and ask for sour cream on the side. If you are on a quest to try every burger place in Suffolk, check this place out, but if not, don't go out of your way to stop by.

The home made potato chips were yummy but the burgers were dry. Even though they were rare. Wouldn't go back.

I'll give the owners and staff the benefit of the doubt because they just opened (a day earlier than this review) and there's a chance that they'll totally redeem themselves in the future, but as of this minute? AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! We sat down without a wait and the place was decorated in the same surfy/beach decor that all of that part of Patchogue seems to love, but that's where things took a turn for the worse. We waited....and waited....while two other tables were seated and served drinks before we even saw a waitress. After the THIRD new party was attended to before we were , my wife grabbed a waitress and they took our order (drinks, wings and burgers all at once). I feel I should mention that this was where we received our first apology. And then? We waited..... As the other tables received drinks, appetizers and burgers, we twiddled our thumbs and kept the conversation up the best we could. Thankfully, another table had some complaints about their order and two managers dealt with them as the family spewed whatever complaints they had. Eavesdropping was fun for a bit, but that got old and then? Take a guess. FINALLY....we were served drinks and two waitresses apologized. And then we waited some more, received ANOTHER apology and then the wings came. Wings were decent, but the blue cheese tasted ranchy. I'll ignore the next period of waiting and skip straight to the burgers. Mine was fine, but the two people I was with ordered medium well and well done. They were both bleeding in the middle. They took them back, recooked the same patties, and gave them back. FORGOT which one was which, took them back again and then gave them to us...and they were STILL red. In the end, we were comped the raw burgers and the one I ate was decent (I'll stick to Reeces or Howard's or Tomorrow's or Burger King). For what it's worth, they did have some decent homemade potato chips on the table before our meal. Final apology count? 12. And did I mention we waited about 15 minutes for the check because of a computer glitch? Oh, and six dollars for a draft beer..... AVOID OR WAIT three months...... Bon apetit!

My wife and I went to check out this local burger joint out for the first time last night. We were looking for a nice casual restaurant to go to in Patchogue before a concert. Well to sum it up simply we have found ourselves a place we will most certainly be returning to. The location is definitely convenient. The biggest issue with the location is the tight small parking lot around back... but it is ultimately manageable. Inside there is a bar area with some table seating in addition to the bar itself and there is also a dining room. The day was hot and they either don't have AC or since it is early spring haven't turned it on. So at the recommendation of the waitress we sat at a table in the bar area where it was cooler. Even though we were near to the bar I have no complaints. Right after we sat down we received a bowl of homemade chips which made for a tasty appetizer to our meal. They also have a variety of appetizers on the menu you can order but we didn't order one this time. The rest of the menu consists of a nice selection of burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, and even some plated entrees. The selections include many standard options as well as some nice unique flavor combinations too. I had the burger of the week which was a beef burger topped with pepperoni, salami, and provolone cheese. I ordered it medium and it was perfect. It came out perfectly cooked moist and juicy. It was delicious. All the burgers are served with fries which were also terrific. My wife had the Mykonos burger which was a ground lamb burger which was seasoned with mint and topped with a blend of cucumbers, feta cheese, and yogurt. She orders her burgers well done and is extremely picky that it comes out well done. Well she was not disappointed as her burger was perfect and delicious. Also worth noting about the burgers is that they are all served on toasted english muffins which sets them apart from many places and if you prefer you can get a regular bun as a substitution. All together the 2 burgers and 2 sodas set us back just under $30 which isn't bad at all. All and all we were very pleased and wil definitely be back with our friends and family.

The first time going there today and I LOVED the place! I love the atmosphere, the staff was excellent & friendly and the food was good & filling. Although a little pricey, it's good for a lunch-hour meal or to take out the family.

Hot dog rolled in filo with kraut and deli mustard - Fantastic! A burger between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches with a fried egg and cheese; among other ingredients. - Awesome. It's also located across from Fadley's (My long standing favorite pub) It's new and worked out the kinks nicely. Great easy menu.

The first time my husband and I went everything was good. My husband's burger was said to be good. The farmers salad was a great portion but nothing special. The second visit again, the burger was said to be good. The salad not so much though (but in all fairness this is a burger place not a salad bar). The service was good.
